Opening with the sound of cicadas, the “Kings Highway” video was directed by award-winning stop-motion animator Jess Cope (STEVEN WILSON, STORM CORROSION, DEVIN TOWNSEND) of Owlhouse Studios, whose talents have been seen in the short film The Astronomer’s Sun, the British children’s television series Postman Pat, and Tim Burton’s feature film, Frankenweenie.

Last week, SCORPION CHILD announced the addition of drummer Jon “Charn” Rice (ex-JOB FOR A COWBOY) into their ranks. The band will showcase at this year’s SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas (date & time TBA) before heading out to the U.K. for nine shows with Monster Truck starting March 16th. The European trek also includes three solo shows in Switzerland, Denmark, and Germany.
Described by Aryn Jonathan Black as “a sonic landscape of a 24-hour period,” SCORPION CHILD‘s self-titled debut album was produced and arranged by Chris “Frenchie” Smith (The Answer, Jet, And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead, The Toadies, Dax Riggs) using analog technology and is primed to join the elite ranks of rock’s present day flag bearers such as Graveyard, The Sword, Wolfmother, and Rival Sons.
