To celebrate Metal Hammer's 40th birthday, the legendary Metal Hammer Awards are returning on August 31, 2024! This unique award ceremony at the Uber Eats Music Hall in Berlin honors the biggest names in the metal scene across 12 categories and will feature spectacular live performances from Saltatio Mortis, Lordi, Future Palace, and more, making this evening an unforgettable event for all metal fans.

Blind Guardian
The German power metal bards, Blind Guardian, are nominated in four categories:
- "Legend"
- "Best Live 2024"
- Guitarist Marcus Siepen in the "God Of Riffs 2024" category
- Singer Hansi Kürsch in the "Voice Of Metal" category
In Flames
The melodic death metal powerhouse In Flames is indispensable at any metal awards. This time, they are nominated in three categories:
- "Best International 2024"
- "Best Live 2024" (competing with Blind Guardian, among others)
- Anders Fridén in the "Voice Of Metal 2024" category
Kreator
The German thrash metal legends, Kreator, celebrated not only the re-release of their albums "Enemy Of God / Hordes Of Chaos" in a limited vinyl box this year but are also nominated in two categories:
- "Legend"
- Guitarist Sami Yli-Sirniö aims to secure the title "God Of Riffs 2024"
HammerFall
HammerFall has a lot to offer in 2024. Not only is the release of their 13th studio album "Avenge The Fallen" forthcoming, but they are also nominated for the Metal Hammer Awards 2024 in the following categories:
- "Best International 2024"
- "Legend" (Insert video of new song)
Sabaton
Sabaton are not only heroes on the battlefields of festival stages but are also very active on social media, which has earned them a nomination in the "Social Media Hero" category.
