New Orleans' premiere summertime vampire event returns on Saturday July 20th. This year will feature THE 69 EYES head honcho, Jyrki69 as the DJ of the endless night. "When I'm in town there's always a party," Jyrki says, "And at Fangtasia, it's public! Come on--New Orleans is all about partying and staying up late. That's why even Led Zeppelin got their own plane: they always flew back after their shows to Bourbon Street! Fangtasia III goes until the dawn!"
This year, Fangtasia moves to the Howlin' Wolf in New Orleans' massive concert venue just outside of the French Quarter. Jyrki 69 will also be bringing friends. Los Angeles deathrock legends CHRISTIAN DEATH join DJ Jyrki 69 for an unforgettable evening of vampiric mayhem. CHRISTIAN DEATH helped cement the Gothic deathrock sound that would later influence everybody from TYPE O NEGATIVE to THE 69 EYES.
Jyrki 69 readily agrees, stating: “CHRISTIAN DEATH is a classic American Gothic band. They're scary as hell, so what else do you need to know? To see them live in 2013 and in New Orleans is a legacy show already!"
THE 69 EYES have always been inspired by New Orleans and even shot their latest video for “Borderline” there with director Patric Ullaeus (DIMMU BORGIR, DREAM EVIL, KEEP OF KALESSIN) last October:
