Metal icons SOULFLY, led by legendary frontman and guitarist Max Cavalera, have released an official lyric video for the song “Bloodshed”. “Bloodshed”, the first single off the band's upcoming album Savages, was debuted during SOULFLY’s set on their most recent European tour and also features Cavalera's son Igor (LODY KONG) on guest vocals. Check out the lyric video created by talented Tommy Antonini, guitarist for Italian post hardcore band TASTERS, at this location: http://youtu.be/ykFQQQ81OSs
Commented Max Cavalera: “The song is about the absurdity of the human condition in territories plagued by bloodshed all over the world. Not just recent events like Iraq, but also historical conflicts such as the U.S. Civil War, World Wars I and II, etc.”

Ever since the band's gold-certified debut in 1998, SOULFLY have become deadlier and more dangerous with each critically acclaimed successive release and Savages is no exception. The record was produced by the world-renowned Terry Date (PANTERA, DEFTONES, SOUNDGARDEN), and will also be the first to feature Max Cavalera's 21-year-old son Zyon on drums. The artwork was created by artist Paul Stottler, who is best known for SCARED REICH’s legendary Surf Nicaragua cover. Savages will be released as a limited edition digipak CD, 2LP vinyl and digital download on October 1 (North America) and October 4 (Europe) via Nuclear Blast. Guest vocal appearances on Savages include bass player Tony Campos, Max Cavalera's other son Igor Cavalera (LODY KONG), CLUTCH's Neil Fallon, NAPALM DEATH's Mitch Harris and Jamie Hanks of I DECLARE WAR.

As if there was a more metal way to come into the world, Zyon’s heartbeat in utero served as the intro to SEPULTURA’s 1993 classic RIAA-gold-certified record Chaos A.D. Max would depart SEPULTURA soon after the release of Roots in 1996.
