Finland-based symphonic metal storytellers NIGHTWISH have just released the official music video for "Elán," the single off their eighth studio album, Endless Forms Most Beautiful (whose title comes from the writings of English naturalist Charles Darwin), out in North America on March 31st.
Shot in various locations throughout Finland last fall and directed by Ville Lipiäinen, you can watch the video on the Nuclear Blast YouTube channel: http://youtu.be/zPonioDYnoY?list=PLB4brr7vf-P6LMpAuLbvvaskBkEUpbNuL
Founding member, composer, and keyboard player Tuomas Holopainen shares how this new video is also a loving tribute to entertainers who came before them:
“Inspired by the untold stories of abandoned places around Finland, the video was nearly a year in the making and features some of the most loved Finnish actors and actresses… and also the legendary NIGHTWISH symbol, a snowy owl (Bubo scandiaca in Latin) named Urho (‘Braveheart’).”
